The wind was blowing something fierce this evening, the nest waving back and forth. The adult female Cooper's Hawk was hunkered down in the nest, only slipping glancing looks through the cracks between the nest branches as she tried to spot me without giving herself totally away. I cannot tell you how difficult it was to get that eye in focus and sharp. 4/30/2019

The adult female had been called down to supper by her mate. She landed under the limb he was on, then prepared to spring up onto that same limb. This was the only sharp shot I caught before she launched upwards. 4/30/2019

It's what's for dinner...White-winged Dove. One of the Cooper's Hawk staples for sure. 4/30/2019
