Anhinga drying its wings. Anhinga do not have oil on their wings as many other birds do who hunt on and in the water. These birds have to dry their wings first in order to be able to fly well. You will see them just sitting there, wings fanned out and occasionally preening themselves until dry.
Silent and stealthy...American Alligator mostly submerged and camouflaged, with only its eyes above water. You sometimes have to look closely to find these prehistoric beasts. Wildlife, fish and birds sometimes don't see them until too late.
